You have some really wonderful pictures here! And a very nice blog.
Im just learning blogging, and am really enjoying it, and the classes.
Interesting that you live near a friend of mine, Im sending you his link in my email later today. He lives in Joshua Tree, or outside in the mountains.
He also comes from Cape Cod, his family lived next to my parents.

It’s me, Sandy, from the WordPress classes? How are you? I love the new theme. I think I used a similar one on the Lake Havasu city that I was going to build until the Chamber of Commerce came along and created the most gorgeous site ever, and I thought “Well, there’s no way that I can complete with that…” so I dropped that idea.

Your site is looking wonderful and I see you are still going strong with your photography. Good for you.

So any plans to make it down to LHC? We arrived here on Sept 28th and will be here until Oct 28. Great timing. I hear that it is snowing and below 0 back home in Edmonton. ‘Might even decide to stay longer.

Wow that is a great slide show. The colors are so vibrant and alive, even with the smoke that always accompanies fireworks. Where did you see that spectacular display?

What, you decided not to climb up to take a ‘palmero’s-eye’ view? I’m astonished! *grin* Not work I’d care to attempt at 72 degrees with a nice breeze, let alone in direct sun at 115. When it gets into those temps around here I go hide on the concrete slab floor of the back room.
When I was a kid in SoCal we had one of the thick, squat palms with very dense fronds beginning probably not more than 10 or 12 feet off the ground. The entire tree was like steps, where the fronds had come off in years past, so we had snakes in the tree most years. Strange thing, watching a snake climb the tree.
I enjoyed your article on the trimmers!

I have been looking at you Web site and was wondering if you have customized Wordpress in any way? How much work was it to set it up? I posted on the class forum question about presenting photos online and noticed that you are using PHP software that I could use too.

Great shots Hans! When I was in California I had rats in one of mine and lots of dead fronds hanging down. Luckily it wasn’t a tall tree, I just swung on them til they fell The rats moved out and my landlord grumbled about having to rent a big dumpster to get rid of it.
